Over on the World League Championship Wrestling YouTube channel, there has been a video recently added entitled "More Storm Battle Royal Result Analysis". What starts off as a panel discussion about standouts from the match begins to alter with warping visuals and odd audio quirks. The warping continues until a familiar tortured screaming noise overwhelms.
In a darkened area with a singular overhead spotlight, Malakai Black sits in his signature cross-legged style.
MALAKAI BLACK: When I entered the battle royal for Storm I knew what I was in store for. I knew I was walking into enemy terrain and that there were individuals out there, both known and unknown, that would do anything in their power to eliminate me before I could lock eyes and see into their soul. Most weren't successful however there was one man who owns a spot rent-free in my mind for at least a little longer. Cody Rhodes. Cody, back in the land of the Elite you were so close to understanding what I was trying to teach you. When I knocked you and Arn out, when I massacred you, when the hatred of the crowd towards you was so obvious that not even you could pretend it wasn't clear... you almost learned. But then, the WLCW came around and you did what you do best, you ran from your problems and now you're running around like a hero once again oblivious to the truth. At Vengeance, you and Miro can go to war for the championship but know that win or lose, you're in my sights.
The camera begins moving closer to Malakai, focusing in on a tight shot of his face.
MALAKAI BLACK: I still see the WLCW World Heavyweight Championship as the mechanism by which I can do what I am here to do. The title lures everyone and reveals their true colors. The closer someone is, the more extreme an effort it takes to keep the façade alive. The championship is the artifact that finally reveals where people's motivation lies and how far they'd go to achieve it. People think a world title is sometimes an agent of corruption, I disagree. It's not the corrupter, it's the revealer. And it's a lot easier to take down those souls if I'm the one wielding it. So I will... in due time.
The overhead spotlight turns off, Malakai's face is much harder to see but still slightly visible.
MALAKAI BLACK: My title shot will not be given to me. No, I'm going to need to wrench and claw and fight and hurt and maim and injure and scare and inflict justice, my justice, on potentially many many souls to get to where I'm eye to eye with the championship and the soul who clutches its powers. Which leads me to Vengeance. The act, yes and the show. This Wednesday on Vengeance, I will be making my presence known. I will be demanding a fight and it does not matter to me whom my opponent is. Anyone can take this match if they want to try to use me to make a name for themselves but I need them to know that they're signing their own death certificate by doing so and will be one of the very lucky few who get to know the date beforehand. Take that death wish and enter the ring with me, I'll give that person the glorious end that they've been looking for. This Wednesday, Vengeance, this is not a fight between me and another wrestler, this is a fight between me and another world. This is my chance to demonstrate the pinpoint accuracy of my fury and to make it 100% clear that the devil within me is not one to be handled lightly. That is what this Wednesday means to me. So to whomever does choose to join me, I sincerely hope it means something similar to you or else your run in the World League Championship Wrestling is going to come to a very depressing, very sudden end.
The spotlight returns but Malakai is gone. The disruption fades away and the YouTube video ends.
